Everywhere is cheaper than this country but we normally get a really good exchange rate because the pound is really strong at the moment

If you are visiting Thailand make sure you do not come back with a wife!!

Oh yes,
I got a Hot Tuna T-Shirt which was genuine for £1.80
Hotels which are top class are about £10 per night
My dad used to own an English language school in Bangkok and he would charge around £10 for a 2 month course
Taxi rides which over cost £15 would cost 60 baht around £1
20 Bensons is around 85p
And you can have a King's feast for around £10 which would feed 8 people

The only thing that is expensive is imported alcohol such as Carlsberg and Bud.

Amazingly so. For me, from UK, getting there is expensive but staying is cheap - for most places £20 to £30 a night gets you a nice room. Food is cheap, drinks are cheap, travel within the country, clothes, etc. Many people travel to Thailand to get suits made to measure as price and quality is really good. It is also famed for cheap reading glasses, dentistry and plastic surgery (they get a lot a practise there). They also are famed for copying - so imitation watches and handbags etc are everywhere.. It's also just a lovely place to go!

Big C(Supermart) opp World Trade Centre is a gd place to start with. Do not bother to go to Chatuchak. Things in Chatuchak are inferior stuffs from Pratunam. Needless to say more. Chinatown if you are in for medication off the shelf. The jewellery shop at level 1 in Asia hotel offer reasonable and good quality ruby.
Fuji Japanese rest. in MBK. Basically, Japanese food is a must try in Bangkok.
In for a real good massage? Go for Thai Herbal Compress at Health Land in Sathorn, Silom.
Remember to ask for the price to destination before you get into the cab at night. Not all cabs go by the meter after nightfall.

Because of better exchange rates and low cost of living, Thailand will be cheap for visitors.

Really cheap. They even hand-carve soaps into flowers and put them in a pot. They spent so long doing it and charged so little I wanted to give them more money! Not into bartering, they're the loveliest people, the full moon parties aren't bad either!! Def the best place I've been so far. Ciggies were £7 for 200!

Yes, if you know where to look and watch out for rip offs. Eat where the locals eat, shop where the locals shop, avoid tourist ripoffs. ie last year I forgot my phone charger, the hotel was built on top of a shopping mall, bought a replacement for 90 pence and it still works. Food is out of this world if you like a combination of indian/chinese.
clothing is dirt cheep andwell maid suits, if you make multi purchaces haggle for a better deal. In markets buying two or more of anything means you can drive a bargain

It depends where you come from and how much you earn. If you're coming from america most things will seem cheaper. What is very cheap is software, music and movies. It's all copied so you can get the latest windows for like 2 bucks. Not that I buy pirated stuff...... I mean who does that...?
