Im pregnant and the fiance did a runner, although he tried to get back together later, he behaved so badly I definately did not want a relationship with him anymore. He has done a runner to avoid child support, but something tell me he will be back to annoy me once the child is here. Yes he will be able to see the child (I just won't be there) so that is not an issue. Has this happened to anyone else, if so what was people's experiences?

I had a baby with a man that did just that, but the novelty soon wore off and he was gone again. My daughter is 18 now and has seen "the sperm donor" as she calls him a maximum of 3 times. She is secure in who she is, knows who her parents are and has always had the freedom to contact him whenever she sees fit.
Never had a penny from him either.
Just make sure you dont make it too hard and I can pretty much guarantee that the novelty will soon wear off.

I'm with Mandy S - tell him if he wants to be a father he has to be one 100% of the time, through good and bad and help to provide for his child.

I would point out however that if he's prone to 'doing a runner' make sure from the start that he's going to have a stable relationship with the child about when he/she is older, cos if he's not this could lead to all sorts of problems.

p.s Corvinus is an idiot.

If he "did a runner" to avoid child support, put him to the test. Tell him he can exercise his parental rights to see the child if he takes on his parental responsibilities to pay the child support (you'd be well within your legal right to do this). If he does it, you have no reason to resent him for that reason, although you certainly have reason to resent him for the other obvious reasons of leaving you while you're pregnant.

If you can't convince a man to be a good husband, what makes you think he'll suddenly be a good father?

Sorry, you won't like my answer but BOTH of you are equally to blame here.
