I recently went to Autozone to purchase an oxygen sensor for my 2000 Jetta, but the Customer Rep. asked me if it's the 1st(top) or 2nd(bottom) section that needs to be replaced. The only way I can find out is by taking it to Pep Boys but they're a rip-off. Does anyone know which section it is?

It is usually the one before the cat.Once you put it in and the check engine light goes out you will know.

Do not buy the part unless you are 100% sure which one it is. When it comes to electrical parts they are usually not returnable. Why are you replacing the sensor? Has it already been diagnosed? What kind of vehicle do you own?
