shouldn't you at least read the Origin of Species, or another introductory book, to at least know what theory you are opposing?
You guys are always telling non-fundies to read the Bible, and most of us actually have.

"origin" is a little out of date by now, don't you think? http://www.talkorigins.org is a better resource. it's hyperlinked so they can go straight to the fact that destroys their belief structure.

your point is well taken, however. wow, just look at some of these answers.

Evolution is just a false religion in seek of more converts. It masquerades as science, but it has become the state religion. The only function of the evolutionary theory is to envision a scenario for the origin of life and the various species without God. It is an idea to support a pre-conceived outcome. It is not a product of the Scientific Method. Why would anyone seriously consider such an impossible occurrence.

I used to be an atheist/evolutionist for 20 years before I turned to creationism. I used to know all the arguments, and I can tell you they (evolutionists) don't have an iota of real, solid evidence to support their theory.
I did read Origin of Species; when I was even an evolutionist, and I can tell you that all Darwin proved was that pigeons produce pigeons and finches produce finches. The Bible says that animals only "bring forth after their "kind". So Darwin actually unwittingly proved the Bible to be true! There has never been any evidence of any kind to prove that the dog and the cat had a common ancestor. That's a fairy tale for grown-ups.
If you want a good read, I would suggest reading "The Evolution Cruncher" by Vance Ferrell. It contains thousands of scientific facts that you will never learn in a liberal college.

Evolution and religion both have a certain amount of faith involved. To deny species are adapting around us would be a fallacy. However to say things started with a big bang takes a large amount of faith.

And there's your answer. They've been brainwashed so much they declare it "only a theory" and "false" and not even try to understand it themselves.

It's like they got all their information about evolution from watching Pokemon.

I have read the origin of species and still find it at best speculative and at worst one man`s fantasy.

Evolution is still a THEORY.

An unproven theory.

When a scientific theory is proven, it becomes a scientific LAW.

Evolution is still a theory, just a guess. And still unproven.

No.

Evolution is a dead horse.

Take your saddle and move on.

The buzzards will take care of things.
