Your resistance to infection is already low; the antibiotics are there to treat the infection you already have. Let the medicine do it's job and gets you well first. Because when you get the tattoo, you will have an open wound that is also susceptible to an infection. The tattoist will probably give you some kind of wipes to keep it clean... But why take that risk at this point in time? Why put more stress on your body? Did you discuss this with your Dr? I'd forego all of the "yes" anwers here and ask for his/her expert opinion. It's your Dr's job to protect you.... Let him do his/her job. Call him today and find out over the phone if it's okay to keep this appt tommorrow. He may prefer that you wait until after your tonsilectomy next month. And just think about it.....IF you wait, getting that tattoo will seem like a great reward for all of the suffering you've been going through because of your tonsils! Be safe.....(smile) and wait 'till a later time.

I have no idea why it would be a problem. Antibiotics are taken to kill infectious bacteria in your body (your tonsil infection). So really, it's only a good thing that they're there, reducing any chance of infection you'd have from the "injury" of getting a tattoo.

I say go for it

As an Artist myself, I would wait until your tonsils are out and you are off all meds. Cancel the tat and wait. If you do it you might regret it, I know it is a big thing for you, but please wait and you will be healthier to get what you want.

You can get a tattoo if you are not on any blood thinners and they don't like to do it if you have been drinking. Both of these things make you bleed easy and it is hard for them to do the work if they have to keep wiping blood off of you. It will hurt.

If you can take the pain then you can still get your tat, the antibiotics won't hurt anything. they may help heal the tattoo faster and possibly block infection.

Is is OK as long as you are not getting your tonsils tattooed.

I would wait. It's not a good idea to do any kind of proceedure that increases the risk of infection while your body's fighting something already.

Wait.Wait.Wait.

I don't think I'd get the tattoo until you're finished the antibiotics.

I wouldn't. I am cautious. Then again, I wouldn't get a tatoo at all., But, You can call and ask. You would probably be safe, but not all antibiotics work for the same thing. Better safe than sorry.

It is never okay to get a tattoo. Why do something to your body that is irreversible. Your body is fine the way God made it. Hopefully you will cancel it for good.
