First off lets look at the "all of our allies", the second world war this isn't. Nations supporting the American war in Iraq are:
The United Kingdom, deeply divided and will pull out when Blair leaves in May - they have 7200 and have also engaged in the Afghan war. If you view the Afghan and iraq wars as one war, it has now lasted twice as long as WWII somewhat increadbly. Next up in this impressive list of allies is the mighty Nation of South Korea with 2800, next is the other country that blindly follwed the US in 'Nam, Australia with 1600, Georgia that renowned world player is next with 900, Poland 900, Romania 600, Denmark 470 and the proud supporters of the War Italy currently have no troops committed what so ever. The USA has 150 000 troops currently committed. 89% of those involved are American. So in essence it has been an American war with typical UK and Austrlain support, any other ally have been countries that are deeply indebted to the US one way or another. No other world power, or indeed Islamic or Arab state, has supported the war.

What good does it do the US sending more troops? Well if the US is hell bent in creating it's new empire it makes sense that she does this with her own troops rather than half hearted conscripts from othr nations who feel bullied and indebted. That way the US can run the show without reference to any of these other "world powers" . Secondly once the country is subugated The US can reape the spoils of it's empire for itself; no need to share the spoils of war and they can keep the oil for themselvs. Thirdly it will allow the US to be honest which will benfit the debate in the US, no more need to talk of allies and liberation and you can call it what it is; naked aggression and empire building, you will then free to debate whether this is the course that the USA wants to take or not. If you are going to fight a war then fight it yourself.

The benefit for the allies in withdrawing is obvious, no more dead Europeans. It's time to let America fight American wars

Don't get me wrong, the strategy doesn't seem to be very logical on the surface. But, the security condition in Baghdad, where most of the troops are going, is completely different than many other areas in Iraq. Many allied troops, like Britain, are in those areas that have already been or beginning to be turned over to Iraqi forces. Ideally, the US would decrease violence in the area and then hand it over to Iraqi. Based on the current situation that seems improbable, but that is the general idea.

Satisfies George Bush that he is going to get his way as some that have diagnosed him as being a sociopath with no feeling or thought for others than himsef. Any man that says that he will do as he feels with the Iraq War even if his dog Barny or his wife Laura are the only ones left to support him has a serious psychological problem and are not only a danger to everyone else but to themselves also.

The new Army commercials offer a free prize for the first 20,000 that sign up.

We are only fighting half the population right now. We need to send more troops so we can fight the other half soon.

George Bush is a blood thirsty maniac. The Americans haven't slaughtered enough people yet for his liking.
