Wikipedia.org is good, if not always correct. And it's free, which is nice. I don't know of anything equivalent to SparkNotes, partly because computer stuff changes a lot. I'd also just start googling (am I allowed to say that here? :-) on specific questions you have - chances are good you'll find a summary from somewhere. Or you can ask here.
