I'm 15 and I am about the exact weight for my height/age, but I want to get more muscular. What is a good work out routine I could do to stay healthy, and get more muscular? They have a fitness class with weights at school thats part of gym, but it's only for grade 10 and up and I'm in grade 9 right now so I can't do that yet. I also need to know what is the best protein powder to get? GNC has so many to choose from and it's hard to tell which one is right for me.

Please help, thanks!

hwy i would go with the creatine or w/e WORKS lika charm!;) and for your gaining muscle, theres only a few simple things you gotta do.. EATTT ALLLLLL you can eat!!! DRink aLLLLLL the water you can.. ( try to stay off pop and bad drinks) and when you take your powder take it.. about 20 min. after your workout., aslo try to eat as much protien as possible ( ALL MEATT). then for your workout, the best way to gain muscle mass is it do smaller reps BUT AS MUCH WEIGHT AS YOU CANNN! like me..

im 15 6 foot 175 lbs ima freking brick :D lol and its becuze i havent drunk pop in 3 years.. eat everything in site.. mainly meat .. no sweets and work out 2 hours a day!, i dont hav weights in mi room but what i do is make things harder.. for pushups.. i normally do them with mi feet on a chair, and crunches lean ALL THE WAY up. when you do those things.. do them till you fail... try your hardest just dont hurt yourself! but manily follow all these, push your hardest and WORK OUT EVVEERRRYY DAY!!!! for at least an hour! and you'll be big in no time, and i also take kickboxxing wrestling and track, so u might want to get some training and sports in there,,,

,.... C ya man! ~!shaver!~

I wouldnt take supplements before age of 20-21. You don't need that . Shakes age good, though, and GNC and Weider were good when I was pumping a lot of iron a few years ago.

There's no secret but working hard, eating well, SLEEPING WELL, and stay regular.

Berofe age 17, you should'nt do too much weight lifting : run, jump, climb, hit, throw, bike, swim... be an athlete, not only a big muscled guy with no habilities.

As for Creatine, it may be helpfull, but in a few years. It may hurt you more than help you right now. You own body produces some Creatine and you don't need more. Keep your money to study or travel.

Good luck !

Hello =)

Actually, you are the perfect age to start a resistance training routine...it will have many benefits, and since your body is still growing, it can help "define" what you will look like as an adult.

Get either a set of weights for at home, or some sort of resistance training machine for at home. If you use free-weights, you will sometimes need company, as bench-pressing needs a spotter. A weight-machine or other type of resistance training machine allows you to do away with that. Look for an inexpensive one at a yard sale. A lot of people buy these things, and never follow through with the regiment, and ultimately, just want to be rid of them. Sometimes a good nautilus or bow-flex can be had for $50, in near-new condition.......

Until then.....work on the three "ups" at home...... Chin-ups (hang a bar somewhere) sit ups, and push ups.......they really do help, you know.....

With all resistance-training....reps are better than the amount of weight.......you're better off starting with lower weights, and higher reps, and then keep adding weight until it becomes "difficult"......when it is no longer difficult, it is time to add more weight. You need to feel the burn, but the burn must not become true pain, or you're over-doing it.

Namaste,

--Tom

Do NOT take any pills/powders from GNC or friends or any other stores!! First of, most of these things aren't approved by the FDA. Second, little miracle pills, acids, etc do not actually work for building muscles! Do your research. I know you may be young but if you really want to know the truth, look up actual research studies for the products you are interested in.

Look into research studies published by universities not the company selling the product!
You will find that in most cases no benefit from these drugs is noted for any of the subjects!

These companies are trying to make a profit off young people like yourself because they know you are too young, and too naive to know the facts or to look them up.

Magic fitness pills cause heart attacks and cancer!

All i know is to just buy some weights, and just do like a hour of lifting every night. I don't know about protein powder, but eat lots of eggs and meat and stuff. Don't over do it with the weight lifting.
