When I couldn't get my daughter to use the potty we came up with the "potty piggy". Every time she made a pooh on the potty she was given a quarter and a sticker. She placed the sticker on her potty so she could see how well she was doing. Then, she took her quarter and gave it to her piggy bank. Eventually, when she was excited to go and didn't need to be asked if she needed to use the potty, we let her turn in her potty money. (This also let us get rid of the money bribe).

The money from the potty piggy took the entire family out for icecream and we've never had an issue with the potty again.

After establishing with her that she is a big girl now and she is going to use the toilet for pee and poo get a calendar and hang it in the bathroom by the toilet. Get a bunch of cheap little stickers and tell her that every time during the day she tries to go pee/poo she will get a sticker, even if she doesn't pee or poo- just as long as she tries. You could even tell her that if she gets X amount of stickers this week, you will take her to buy a new toy/ treat/ play place at McDonalds/ whatever. This way, she will be encouraged to sit on the potty often and she will probably end up pooing on her own and it won't be a bad experience.

My daughter is 4 years old now. But I used to tell her that she a big girl, so she must use the big toilet. She really liked sitting on the toilet in the bathroom instead of the potty. She to has had a problem with constipation. I would give her yogart or vanilla pudding which has milk or dairy products (lactose) which seems to help her bowels move . Try it, you'll see a change in her diet plus she will enjoy eating the yogart.

I LOVE that potty piggy idea above. Use THAT for when she poops! What a good idea!

And my own idea: get rid of the pull-ups now.

Good luck to you. Be patient with her poops, it's bound to be messy without the pull ups, but it may be what you need to move on.

well I wouldnt tell her that you wouldnt talk to her until she uses the potty-- you need to use positive reinforcement-- offer her a new toy, or her favorite food. Never threaten with your love or attention

Tell her it is okay, and reassure her that is is alright. Say because you have changed her food it won't hurt. Also, maybe she does not want to use it for that yet, so give her a little time.
