no but I took my daughter to a child psychiatrist . That was a waste of my time. I found out latter he can't do anything for form of autism like PDD.
No but I really felt like they were treating everyone like nuts. They had a plastic closed window, with a door bell. I got a really snobby remark. I was asking if my daughter had a appointment. I couldn't remember the name, the paper had fill out of my purse.I latter heard her tell the Dr. I should be on meds and I was not even the patient bec I asked her a simple question.
Then I found out the whole thing was a waste of time. That a neurologist is the one I need to see for my daughters PDD

I used to see a psychiatrist, because i supposedly had bipolar disorder. To tell you the truth, i found it completely useless. They're not there to talk to you, just drug you out of your problems, so hopefully you'll one day forget about them. That's maybe why they freakin spent 7 years in medical school. They tell you all that bull about how it's actually a "chemical" in your head that's going ballastic, and it's "not your fault". I used to see him every now and then, and the only freakin' thing he would ask me is "how are you", then "ok, take more meds" or "take less meds". I felt like a toy he was (or wasn't) trying to fix. If you really want to talk, you have to see a therapist. But, i haven't had a good experience with them either... i saw one once, and whenever i would talk, he would close his eyes, as if he was trying to block me out or something!
I now believe that psychiatrists just convince you that you have a problem, get you all worked up and worried, just to finish the appointement by... billing you.

My son sees a psychiatrist. And I am sooo grateful for him. His help has truly been priceless. My son was delusional and having hallucination and having multiple symptoms and problems. We took him to his pediatrician and had multiple tests done...nothing. He was scared and spiraling out of control. So I did the hardest thing I ever had to do, put him in a mental health clinic for two weeks. He loved it, it was like camp to him. Now he is out and on meds. No more bugs crawling all over his body, no more robots out to kill him, no more deep depression, etc, etc. His grades went from failing to all As and Bs. He sees his psychiatrist regularly and they get along great! I feel such appreciation to all of these "idiots" as you call them.

Pills they give you, do help. About talking, almost all what they say is not important. What helps - if you are really interested in understanding better your own problems - is the effort you make before each date, to try to explain them better. You'll understand yourself better. You do the job. The other listens. If he is really listening to you - what sometimes happen - may help you. Is easier to see others problems than your own ones.

You need to set some goals for your life. Stop thinking all about yourself and start thinking about what you can do for others. If you really want your life to get better, start thinking about what you are doing with your life. Get back in school, find a part-time job, start reading books that interest you. It's your LIFE, what do you want to do?
Fighting never solves anything, write what you want to tell your parents in a letter. It's dumb, but it may work. Running away for your problems don't work, fighting about don't work. Been there done that.
email me if you want to talk more about it.
Your brother in Christ,
Carl

My experience with so-called "mental health providers" has been indifferent at best and absolutely traumatizing at worse. I hope you can get out of this and get away from your parents somehow. They sound like totally toxic people.
