They don't have to get the story straight. They just have to keep the dollars flowing from the believers.

Try this one on for size. First, I do not know nor do I really care how old the Earth is really.
Second, if the creation account is right then God created with a Faux age look and all your science is irrelevant and useless and serves only to keep you from God. Example: You come by in the afternoon and see Adam. How old does he look to you? 20? 30? whatever the number you are wrong because he is hours old. The trees? 50? 100? nope only days old.
Finally, the word used for days in the bible is a time reference and could mean any marking of time seconds, minutes, hours, decades or Melania. The idea here is that God created and that about sums it up. How he did it does not mean anything, but what we do while we are here that is another story all together and one should keep reading.

The Bible does account for 6000 years after Adam was cast out of the Garden. This, however is not the age of the world. The world is much, much, older than that. (please see my answers to your previous questions) My story is straight, others have no leg to stand on as their religions/churches are false.

Who said the world is 6000 years? And stop asking questions to people who may have gotten saved yesterday. Get the Word and read for yourself. The Earth is how many million years old? Who knows. What christians do is they accept Jesus as their Christ and they believe Him to redeem them. Then they get in the Word and they start reaching out to God. We don't come equip with all the answers at once.

Probably because the Bible really doesn't state how old is the world. You know that is really not an issue with me anyway. I am not a scientist and don't give a hoot. What is your problem that you get so testy about it anyway. So big deal we don't agree, who does agree on this point. Settle down, our interest in the Bible is to learn about God not how old the earth happens to be.

The 6,000 year age of this planet (since the Bible says that there was nothing before Genesis) was incorrectly calculated by adding up all those begats. How scientific is that? The "Young Earthers" must be the descendants of the "Flat Earthers".
"Modern geologists, based on extensive and detailed scientific evidence, consider the age of the Earth to be around 4.567 billion years (4.567×109 years)."

I don't see the Bible as a history book, so the 6000 years old theory is just that, a theory -- as is the evolution theory which also cannot be proven.

If everyone believed in the same God. Then I would say you are right. But there is only one true God the Lord. But there are several religions. And they all believe differently. There is alot of gods out there.

Because they don't know the story for the most part. They don't know where the 6000 year idea came from or how it was determined.
