Find out what she likes most, and find a way to incorporate it. Does she get flowers and is she a romantic, then do that. Is she a fantical downhill skier? Then take her on a ski trip and do it there. Does she love chocolate? Take her to a Fondue restaurant like Melting Pot and order the champaign and chocolate fondue dessert and do it there. Whatever you decide, make sure you do it slowly. You'll both want to savor the moment. So try, if you can, to stop time.

My fiance proposed to me in the rain at a spot by the river where we liked going for walks. He proposed with a Haribo jelly ring and then I chose one myself. You should propose in a place that means something to you both and in an interesting way.

I probably had the WORST proposal of all time so take this from someone who has been through it.
Have a plan and follow through with it, go to a place that means alot to both of you, get down on your knee and ask her. But most importantly HAVE A PLAN. It doesnt matter if she figures it out on the way there that its going to happen, follow through with your plan. It will always be a nice memory for her that you took her to that spot and that you got on you knee to ask.
I can not stress the "have a plan and follow through with it" part enough.

I dream of something grand--something I can tell took lots of time and planning! This is a story she will retell the REST OF HER LIFE, so the hey, wanna get hitched? on the way to the store proposal stinks!

From your heart. Make it creative and unique to the both of you. ake it memorable and make it fit your personality. Like if you are a sports fan- do the whole will u marry me on the billboard. If you are adventurous- ask her in a plane or on the mountainside. If you are romantic, woo her with dinner and flowers and music and such.
Just go with what feels right for both of you.

i think this would be great.. (not sure on your circumstances but il go for it anyway..)
~ shes been at work all day
~ your at home and she comes back with the room full of candles and a big bunch of red roses.. then you get down on one knee and say a little meaningful speech (which you will know more about!) and then ask her to marry you whilst presenting a ring!

Slip the ring on her finger while she is taking a nap, and when she wakes up stalk her till she notices it, and then get down on your knee and propose.

If you're sure of her answer, do it in front of her family. They'll love you forever! And ask her father for her hand first. If you're not sure of her answer, make it a special place that you can return to for anniversaries, celebrations, etc. Just make sure it is a place SHE loves.
