Without actually witnessing it, I am going to guess and say that she's trying to show signs of dominance. Which means that you haven't established yourself as "pack leader" yet.
Then again, it could quite possibly means that she needs a little lovin'.

I have a 13 week old female Chihuahua. I got her when she was 6 weeks old. She loves to cuddle with me. I never thought she was trying to be dominating, although she could be. She loves to sleep on my chest when I am relaxing at home. I just think she likes the closeness and warmth.

I think it's their way, of showing love, and affection and maybe wanting some kisses. I have five chihuahuas that do that sometimes too. My one male, has alway's climbed up my chest, turns his head to the side, puts one arm on each shoulder, and puts his face against my face, and leans into me, like he's giving me a hug. If you just say to him, give me a hug, he understands and he does it. It just too cute!

That is her way of saying that she believes herself to be the top dog. It is a dominant posture. You can tell her you are top dog by rolling her on her back and holding her there with your hand loosely around her neck (you don't want to strangle her) Also make her wait to eat after you eat. Never let her bite you and make her do something for any treat you give her. Even though she is just a tiny little mite she should be taught who is top dog.

Sounds like your chi is displaying dominant behavior, if you don't want her to do that you have to be the pack leader and gently push her down and make a "chch" sound and be persistant, these little guys are very stubborn and want to be the leaders. I have two as you can see in the pic to the left, one of mine did a similar thing to me, and I did the putting her down and making the noise, she finally got it and now if she wants to be close to my face she waits for an invite.

She's being dominant and showing she's the boss. You let her and so she thinks she is the "top dog". In other words, she thinks she owns you. Don't let her do that as a puppy or she will continue to be dominant as she gets older. when you're plaing with her, gently roll her around on her back, and show her that you're the one in charge.

Chihuahuas' have small dog syndrome!!! Most importantly, she is probably looking for attention. Even you said that.....so why own a dog if you know it is craving attention, and you don't give it to her. She needs a new home, with someone that loves her... Are you Paris Hilton???
