The list of reasons can be HUGE as to why a dog doesn't want to eat including: depression, disease, or just that they got into something when you weren't looking and aren't hungry. It depends on how long its been since she hasn't eaten. One day--keep an eye on her and try to tempt her with some cheese or other favorite food. If its been longer--time to take her to the vet. She may have a parasite, a cold, or just be in pain from something. My dog quit eating (or not eating much) when he tore his ACL in his knee. He really didn't limp that much (since he is super stoic) but he just didn't feel like eating either. Now after 2 knee surgeries and many, many visits to the vet, I can sometimes judge when he needs a doggie pain pill based upon how he eats or how much he pants.

You know your dog best and if this is out of character for her...then you should probably take her to the vet. It is better to spend $50 to find out that she has gas than to miss treating something early on and racking up more medical bills in the long run.

Good luck and bon appetit to Sandy.

If the dog is older, I would take her to the Vet, may have a medical problem. My pomeranian didn't want to eat, took her to the vet and she had some kind of parasite the vet said she picked up from outside. She took antibiotics for 1 week, she eats now.

When the dog gets hungry she will eat.if she has been throwing up or have diahreah, then she will be fine. How old is she?As the dogs get older3-4 months then they eat when they get ready, not like real young puppies. If she has not eaten anything for more than one whole day, then call the vet and see what he says to do.......

if this has just started and you havent been switching food, she may be a bit ill. If it lasts more than 24 hours I would take her to the vet. You can try to cook some chicken breasts and brown rice, mix it and see if she will eat that.

If your dog is not eating, I would recommend that she be seen by a vet.

Take your dog to the vet to see why she won't eat. They might have to tube feed her until they can figure it out.

try a bland diet for 3 days, this was recom by my vet. boiled chicken-shredded 1cp. (boneless/skinless), white rice 1cp. and cottage cheese (1serv-4oz). my dog loved it-twice a day though. also check a local vet just in case your dog has any allergies to cottage cheese. i love my dog also, so i really hope this helps yours gain their appetite back !!!
