I LOVE Newcastle...very easy to drink for a dark beer. I don't know why people would compare it to Guiness, a brown ale has a much different taste than a stout, which is thicker, that's why Guiness is more filling.

Newcastle is a decent beer, alot higher than most beers folks will buy. I in finding it quite mild, and no longer hoppy at all. This makes it a good session beer, some thing I might have 5 or 6 of with pals. I've bought a couple of associates into the craft beers by way of showing them Newcastle (i'm aware that Newcastle itself isn't a craft beer, but its a marked exchange from lager land).

It's an ale! Nothing like guiness which is a stout and much thicker. Depending on the mood, I love 'em both.

Bingo! It is definitely lighter then Guinness! But if since you like Newcastle you really need to try the best nut brown which is Samuel Smith Nut Brown! You will never look at Newcastle the same! Trust me 15 years of bartending lead me to that conclusion!

I think Newcastle is a great Brown Ale. Why it would be compared to Guinness which is a Stout, I don't quite know.

Like it. Like Bass better. Guiness is a stout... don't know why someone would compare the two if they know anything about beer!

I like it, but it is nothing like Guiness. It has a unique flavor, and the rumor is that it contains fish oil.
