They could, but they won't.

Because if they did, then they would have to take responsibility for every negative consequence of that action.

And Congress, being the most craven of animals, is loath to take any responsibility for anything.

That's why they're blowing smoke up your asses and telling you they have no power.

They could but I dont think they should and I dont think they wont. We need these extra troops. Bush and his admin have messed up this war from the beginning by not sending in more troops in the beginning like the generals requested and nipping this in the bud. I think 20k troops isnt even enough I believe we need more however this is a good start and I will write 1 leter a day to my congressman if they de-fund this war like they did during the vietnam war.

Absolutely not!!! if they did, responsibility would fall on their shoulders.....Liberal Congress taking the blame for something??? I think not

no they shouldn't cut funds yet, but we should pull out slowly.
