Youth Activities
• Think about your organized recreational activities. How could they be made better?
• Look for scheduled youth activities in the local paper. Could there be more and better ones?
• Talk to your peers about what youth activities they think your community needs.

I only care about no anime clubs in the area.

As you've noticed, the vast majority of littering incidents involve cigarette butts.

Organize a writing campaign to your city councilman and ask him to make illegal the sale of cigarette packs which do not contain a compartment for proper disposal of butts. Go and visit the city council in person. Find your councilman and ask him if he read your letter. Ask him if he's going to do it, and if not, why not. Remind him that New York is outlawing the sale of cigarettes which keep burning after a person stops puffing on them, for fire safety reasons; your proposal is similar and as reasonable.

Good luck.

In order to meet community needs, I would suggest that you work through your local volunteer center. I volunteer through one of the Hands On Network affiliates. These groups connect people with meaningful community service opportunities that tackle real community issues and needs.

Your local affiliate is called L.A. Works:

They offer one-time, short-term, and long-term volunteer opportunities, including opportunities for youth volunteers 13 years old and over. As your local volunteer center, they are affiliated with various other non-profit agencies in your community, so you be referred to a project that meets your specific interests and personal goals or beliefs.

Good luck!
