Hey gabrielle...,
Yes, you can have them. I cannot get them for you, but you can get them from the municipality where you were born. Start with the Town, City, County and Then State if you have to. You use YAHOO! Search, and search for the words literally "Vital Record " , where location is your Town, or City, or County or State. What will come up in the search is places to get your birth record from, like a records repository for Vital Records. Read the sites, they will explain how, what form, how much money, and where to go or send the application.
You can use the sites below, but they will be slightly more expensive than if you can find the records in your town/city/county.
There are 4 web sites below. The last one is great for finding a STATE in the UNITED STATES, and getting the process for applying to get your Birth Cirtificate. The first is a WORLD Vital Records site, in case you are not in the United States. The third is in the off chance that your record is on Rootsweb.com, you could get lucky. and the SSA office, well, that may not help you at all. Be patient, mailing for Birth Certificates can take several weeks.

Public information. Go to the county court house in the county and state you were born and request a copy.

Yes, and you should. Your parents should have them, but if not you can contact the court house in the county where you were born. There may be a fee to get them though.
