The only GOD that can never resemble anything. That same thing inside of you by might, mysticism, and majesty that always has you question. And if you stop questioning, then that means you submitted. But still questions never cease. You can say allah is the moon GOD if you are referring to as HIM creating a glorious thing. But it is the same as me, you, the sun, stars, heavens, water, air, etc. Each serves it's purpose. The moon gives light at night for us to see. Better than walking around in complete darkness till the sun rises if you ask me. Just one mercy of allah that most don't take heed to. Or maybe you do. At night when you are with your significant other and gazing at the stars. Just in awe. Not giving much thought to it, but it still will have you in awe. That is allah. Allah has no gender. Never incarnate. Nor resembles anything. Allah is mostly known by despcription by those with knowledge. Basically, HE is the lord GOD of israel(pbuh). Because the christ is not GOD of jacob(pbuh). Allah is even described perfectly in the hinduism religion. Though they have many gods and goddesses, they still will all explain the majesty of the ONE supreme. But to thier religion, he sends people to remind of the glory that HE is. Like vishnu and his many avatars. The description vishnu gives of GOD(allah) is perfect. And he will describe it the same as me.
"According to the monotheistic and panentheistic theologies of Hinduism, God (the Supreme Being) is, in the highest sense, One: beyond form, infinite, and eternal. God is changeless and is the very source of consciousness. God is beyond time, space, and causation and yet permeates everything and every being. God is beyond gender."-wikepedia
Even though they are a polytheistic religion, they are still very much monotheistic for the sake of they only believe in ONE GOD capable of BEing. That goes beyond the top 3 gods of hinduism.
Islam revolves around a simple pricipal. La ilaha ilallah-there is no GOD but GOD. Worth 100 prayers evreytime spoken. So to answer your question:NO, allah is no moon GOD. But the creater of. And I think my answer described HIM well enough for one to give thought.
As salamun alaikum-peace be upon you!

um, well Allah is 'God' (whatever we mean by that), I'm not so sure what we feel God is, is different because he gets called by different names
I mean, the 'god' of say, Al Queda seems very different from the 'god' of the Muslim Sufi's.. the same debate goes on in liberal and conservative Christian camps, what is got like?
I feel the attempt to box god into a name, making him a different god or idol is dangerous ground, I think the argument is really over what god is like, not what his name is

Islam is technically a Judeo0Christian religion.
Their God is the same as the god of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob.
They believe that Jesus was a good man, and a prophet, and that Muhammad was closer to being the true messiah.
And I, as a Christian, and human being, am offended by all these posts throwing a blanket of insults over all of Islam. Yeah, some of them are idiots, but what do you call Benny Hin?
(not saying you insulted them, I just read another post)

Allah gave his name to Prophet Moses (PBUH), and said, "I AM WHO AM."
Transliterated, this is represented as YVHV, which though it cannot be pronounced in the original Hebrew (literally -- the consonants would require transitional sounds that the human speech organs are incapable of producing), is often spoken as Yahweh or Jehova.
Know any deities who call themselves that?
[Woo, pretending to be Muslim is fun...]
