I'm assuming you mean eastern Indiana as opposed to american indians. It is possible although rare for american women getting married to indiana men. Much of it depends how important the preservation of his culture and religion are. His family is another matter.... they will undoubtedly be opposed...and what momma wants, momma gets. So guard your heart.

Also be advised the fastest growing area suffering from aids/hiv is india. Why, becuase given the low econmic level because of the cast system...many indiana girls are forced to support families through prostitution..... and yes.... those loyal, dedicated husbands are the customers. In their culture it is tolerated for the men to have concubines (mistresses) It is totally normal there.

So think twice about crossing cultural lines, religious lines, and tradition lines..... it will be an uphill battle for acceptance every minute of everyday.

Yeah, liking somebody doesnot concern with what culture one belongs to. An Indian Wedding is really very beautiful with varied colors, food, dresses, people too. U would possibly get an Indian wedding if u reaaly lke some Indian or if u ever happen to go to India.

To be honest, Indians would love to accept an American in their family, especially the one that respects their culture and values. The key is to find a modernistic open-minded spouse and inlaws for yourself. Anyway, there have been many instances of an Indian girl or boy marrying an American, especially in the cosmopolitan cities. you can post your profiles on Indian matrimonial sites such as www.shaadi.com, www.jeevansaathi.com, www.bharatmatrimony.com and screen the responses closely to get a good offer.

It is possible but you need to find someone who's family is open minded. I only date Indian men so I speak from experience. (used to be married to a paki also) I am just like you and I love everything about India too. From the food, to the clothes, to the culture, the music, especially the Bollywood movies. I also plan on going there sometime in the near future, my son also wants to go.
You can try shaadi.com or indianfriendfinder.com for starters. If you go to shaadi.com you can register with a profile and search thousands of men who are looking for marriage. You can view their profile chat with them and find some in your area.
We should get together and talk. I think we have alot in common. I even can speak a little hindi.

I know of a wonderful young girl who loves the American people and would love to marry one. Her parents would dearly love her to marry one also as they too think that the USA is a wonderful race. But, despite my attempts to help her to find someone from the internet that really is marriage minded, no one seems to want to respond to her from wither USA or the UK

Yes, but not in all instances.

Depends on their church/temple/Mosque some require convert ion.....

If you are seeing an Indian then, you should find this out ahead of proposal.

If you are not, then here is a site.

http://yahoo.shaadi.com/india-matrimony/

Most can conduct mock ceremony with true blessing of their priest but you have to find a priest that is willing to do it.(Mock in this sense that it is not registered in their registry at church / temple/Mosque. This is true when convertion is not practised by certain religion, out of fear of reprisals.

In your case. You must have a civil ceremony here. See a lawyer. India has different laws base on religions and sub religions, in case of some complication you will have some standing and say in the matter at least here in USA..

Of course it is. I see it all the time. I know a lot of indians who have married non-indians. Your BEST shot is with a south indian who is christian. That way you can have a indian man who is christian, and have a church wedding, or even a fusion of the two (church/traditional). Good luck!

Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. That would be an awesome experience. Go for it!!! You need to do what's best for you. There is no laws or rules saying what type of wedding you should have. You can have any type of wedding you so desire!!
