ive known him for ten years ever since middle school.
his friends dont like him hanging out with me, and i'm scared that if he says no our friendship will be over.

Be nice. After all, you are friends. Tell him, you cherish your friendship and would never do anything to jeopardize that, but you’d like to go out with him on a date sometime. Tell him that it will be perfectly ok to say no and we can keep this great friendship. In all honesty, if you’ve been friends for 10 years, you should know by now, whether it would work out between you two or not. If you start dating and it doesn’t work out, the friendship may be permanently lost.

Personally I don't think you should date your best friend, sometimes ppl should just remain friends, best friends always seem like the best ppl to date and make a commitment with, but you only know that person on a friendship level not a intimate level. Dating a friend could even ruin the friendship if things don't work out. I guess you just have to decided rather it's the best thing to do, wish you the best of luck!!!

My best friend who ive known since middle school asked me out and weve been together a year in Feb. It worked out for us but if you havent dropped any hints then this could be an akward time bomb waiting to explode. If youve been friends for 10 long years he should understand whether he likes you or not

Just ask him, then you will know. If he is going to end the friendship because of that then he wasn't a good friend and he didn't really think too much of the friendship.

To be quite honest if he does not show signs that he's as into you in the same way that you are into him then don't ruin a good friendship. Sometimes we have to live with the fact that we'll always just be friends with that one special friend. Good luck.

Well if you really like him, ask him. If he is really your friend he would still be your friend even if says no and he wouldn't listen to his other friends even if there just guys. Just get him alone and tell him whats on your mind. Just know what happens in the end happens for a reason.

Why not, but keep it low key, don't call it a date. Then you have an out and an opportunity to see how things go when you "hang out together". Go somewhere his friends aren't likely to show up.

dating best friends it's a little more complicated because if it doesn't work you don't want to lose your god friendship with one another but if you both i think you should try it..but first talk of no matter what happens you will still be best friends...don't know if it works but you only live once don't you so try it

...yeah that's the worst that can happain...but there'sa still the best:you can go on a date,he can be truly in love with you,and you can be happy...but sorry tooo tell you...i think that if a guy is just friend to a girl 10y than maybe he has no more feeling for her just friendsship...i realy dont know what could you do...

Just answer this question to yourself, "If I ask my friend out and he says no, will I be happier that I asked him, or always wonder and be sad."
You can find other friends. Go for it.
