Okay, I just want you to know that I am a Licensed Health Insurance Agent in California. so this is ACCURATE information. There are some very specific things that I would need to know to answer your question fully, however, in SOME cases, crohn's (or ulcerative colitis as it is known medically) may NOT disqualify you from some health insurance depending on the surrent status of it. The only other option is for you to get a job that has health insurance for a few reasons. Group insurance, or employers based insurance is not individually underwritten, which means that they cannot single you out like they can when you are getting insurance on your own. All you can do is get on line and search prices. Chrons should not prevent a carrier from insuring you. Your rates may be higher but someone will cover you.

Your local hospital or university hospital probably has information on how to be a research patient. Hospitals that have a research programs will treat you for free however you are subject to being poked, prodded and examined on a regular basis as well as being subject to having to remain in the hospital for extended periods of time.
