I had a dog die when her pups were 3 days old, it's not easy to hand rear but it's well worth it. As they are 3 weeks old at least you won't have to hand feed them every two hours. To keep them clean I wouldn't use a cloth but a piece of kitchen towel for each pup. Wash the eyes gently from the inner corner out with warm damp kitchen towel then wash the mouth (outside only) then under the tail. They should be washed after every feed especialy the back end to encourage them to toilet.
Good luck, it will all be worth it in the end.

i'm sorry for your loss. you are going to have to get a puppy replacement formula as these pups are not old enough for regular puppy food. i've found that by stimulating the pups to go potty under a warm faucet in my sink will not only automatically wash away the poo and pee, but it doesn't irritate the genitals like using a paper towel or cloth. you can use a baby shampoo that is tear, pufume and dye free on the pups to keep them clean after that. just make sure you dry them ASAP. also go to your local petstore and get a puppy warming mat. and make sure the pups have room to get off this mat if they need to. in the next few weeks you can start mixing the puppy formula with canned puppy food and make it into a watery greul and allow them to dance and walk through it and occassionly they will lap at the food. as they grow and teeth come in you can add softened dry food, small bites for puppies to the mix and thicken it up. and make sure you take the pups to the vet as soon as you can they need to be checked and the vet will let you know when you need to bring them back for deworming and vaccines. if mom was ill then these pups might not be in the best of health and may need some veterinary intervention to get them up to par. and anytime a pup looks lethargic or just isn't right immediatly call your vet and have them checked, they are very vulnerable. but not impossible for them to do just fine. they had a good amount of time with mom, just not quite enough. good luck to you and again sorry for your loss of the mother.

I assume you know how to feed them, since you didn't ask about that. To keep them clean, use a warm damp wash clothe and gently wipe them. You could also use baby wipes. Make sure they are using the bathroom on their own. If not, you will have to gently wipe their anus and genitals to stimulate them to potty. Good luck and sorry to hear about your poodle!

No, don't bathe them. They are too young for that. Pet stores sell "Puppy wipes" which are dampened wipes which are PH balanced for a puppy's skin. You can wipe them down with a few of those.
Large Pet stores sell them. Some feed stores might. If you don't find any in your area, you can dampen a soft cloth without soap or chemicals and wipe them down.

You can rinse them in luke warm water. Just don't dip their head under. Wash their face with a wash cloth. You can run their bodies under a stream of luke warm water. You can also use a mild soap such as pet shampoo or dawn or baby shampoo.

hi when my old labrador had 10 puppies i used to watch her cleaning them and i notised as she washed them it also encoraged them to go to the toilet. i think cottonwool and warm water will feel like mums tongue. also you will have to feed the puppies with puppy milk, as they are to young to be wheaned at the moment. hope this helps
