I'm a Christian. When the Holy Spirit urges you to tell a random person that is not saved that you do no even know about Jesus, what is a good way to start the conversation?

When the spirit gives you a message for someone, you already should know what to say. Ususally its ends up (for me) being something like "God has not forgotten you" or "God still loves you" or "Put your faith in God, because he will fight for you"

There is no unversal answer to you question. If the Holy Spirit realy tells you to do that - and you must be sure 100% about it - than it will guide you through the whole process. And since all the people are so different one from another there would be so many different approaches.
But telling someone that he isn't saved, even when a person does not understand it's need for salvation is not wise. You should always build up a conversation from what the basement which depends on things like, does the person believes in existance of God, how great or small is the light that the person knows about it's need of God - and then you should build on what you find in them. Don't biuld the roof on the empty soil.

First of all, it is not just holy spirit which should motivate you to speak to a stranger about god's word and the hope it holds for mankind, but also your conscience, and love for your fellow man should be your motivating factors. If you are truly christian, let this person know that, and show good conduct in your daily life. In time, as this person sees good conduct in your lifestyle, they may start to ask questions, and that is the best time to respond. However, the apostle Paul said to "teach the good news and to be at it "URGENTLY" in favourable season and unfavourable season". Therefore, you should use your own discretion, and if that person is not open to what you have to say to them, then your daily conduct can speak for you and for your christian beliefs, because being a christian means 24-7, and not just when we choose to be.

Ask the Holy Spirit to open a door in the conversation to start speaking about Jesus.
Or if you want to start a conversation you can ask, "Do you know Jesus?" or "what does Jesus mean to you?" or "Do you know what Jesus has done for you?"
I pray you are spirit led when you do speak to someone about Jesus. Hallelujah!

I'm thinking that the best way is to just work it into a normal conversation or perhaps give them some sort of an informational pamphlet. I won't necessarily want to stand around talking with someone but if you hand me a pamphlet and I end up crumpling it up and throwing it in my car then at some point when I'm waiting on something and sitting in my car and there's nothing on the radio I will reach down, uncrumple that pamphlet and read it.

I just start talking to the person. My beliefs don't require the other person to follow my faith. Something will be said in the conversation that will help.

I don't need to peddle my faith on my sleeve. I don't need to wear a sign of who I follow or why. If I spend enough time outside my own thoughts, maybe I'll come across new information. Now add up the dozen or so conversations I have a day and I get a bigger picture.

Maybe your god doesn't want you to pass your faith on. Maybe he wants you to talk to them so that you get a message.

NO ONE ever thinks of that.

The Holy Spirit is already working in the person who He wants you to speak to.

Try "Friend, do you know Jesus as your Savior?" Just tell them "I feel compelled to ask you and to share my experience of Salvation with you.

I'm not sure God just picks out random people for you to pounce upon, Sharing Christ with someone usually takes time and trust. The quickest way to turn someone from God is to start preaching to them. It's better if they ask you a question first.

This is from Mark, 13:11 Remember, this is advice for those who were/are being "brought in for questioning"
I would think that if you are being led to speak to someone, then the words would be given you at the appropriate time.

"But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost."

I'm not a Christian but may I suggest - Don't tell someone who is "not saved" that they are "not saved". It is an insult. They might be polite to you but it is still an insult.

Imagine if an atheist came up to you randomly and told you that you were wasting your life in a foolish belief? How would that make you feel?
