Reward! even if it's small, a reward can really help. Also, make sure not to be too specific. if she's a sable color, say 'brown' not 'sable' since most people seeing the sign won't know dog colors. If she's friendly and comes to her name, I'd put her name on the poster. If she's shy, i would instruct people to not try to approach but to call you immediately to avoid having her run from strange people. Make sure the picture is a good one! People may only glance at it and you want people to remember it.
Make sure to contact your local shelters and vets and let them know about your missing dog. Also, make sure as the days go by, if they do, that you widen your search area.
Finally, there is a new online group for canine amber alerts. You should post her info there

I would put on there her name, that she is a loved family pet and where you last saw her. You should also take the poster to local vets, shelters, and humane societies. Typically if a person that finds your dog is the type of person that cares enough to ensure that the dog is properly cared for and returned to their home, these are the first places that they will take the dog to get help.
You may want to also post the picture at grocery stores, put it on car windows, or just stand at the corner of two (not too busy) streets near where your live/lost the pet and ask passerby's if they've seen your dog and that if they do see her or even think that they see her to give you a call right away. This will make it personal and move likely that a complete stranger will even notice a roaming dog let alone notice that it is the one on the Lost poster.
Good luck--I hope you find her soon.

When my dog ran away, I put up so many posters, but the thing that got her back to me was calling the SPCA. When people find a dog, they might call the SPCA to see if the owner has reported it lost. Try to find another dog shelter if you don't have an SPCA in your area.
Good luck!

put if she was wearing a color and what color, put the name she answers to. if she has anything that would make her stand out (a patch of different color fur, a scar, etc) put the date and area she was lost in on the poster.

Also include her name, age, and breed (if any) and her address. Have you notified animal control or the SPCA and the police department of the dogs disappearance? that is very important to do too.
