Probably because the cosumation of alcohol should be kept to a minimum. If you're at a christmas party and you know you can control yourself, go ahead and grab a small glass of whine or a pint of beer. But NEVER overdo it! It can make you very sick. I think you might be overdrinking it if you're coughing up flem ALL day....
