Correct me if I am wrong here.. But this is the gist of it:
God created earth, God created a man (adam) Adam was lonly, So god created a woman (Eve). They had two sons (Caine and Able) Caine was jealous of Able, So he killed him. (or the other way around, I'm not sure) He was cast out of the garden of eden..
My questions:
1) If this is true.. How did Adam and Eve populate the earth?
2) Caine returned later to the garden of Eden with a wife.. Where did she come from?

Adam and Eve may have had more children.. Adam and Eve were the first -humans-. A human can not realistically have more than 20-30 children (based on one child a year).
How can brothers and sisters having sex be ok?
Also.. If God created humans elsewhere.. Doesn't that mean he favoured Adam and Eve to place them in this Garden of Eden? and wouldn't that have bred contempt from the people outside of this Garden?
Trying to understand.

Genesis 4:17 says, "Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch." Who was his wife? It is implied in the biblical text that Cain married one of his sisters. Several facts lead us to this conclusion.
First, it is clear that Adam and Eve had a number of children. Genesis 5:4 says, "After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters." Since Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, and since God had commanded them (and their descendants) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), it seems reasonable to conclude that Cain married one of his many sisters. It is also possible that he married a niece or even a grandniece.
One must keep in mind that in the early years of the human race there were no genetic defects that had yet developed as a result of the fall of man. By the time of Abraham, God had not yet declared this kind of marriage to be contrary to His will (see Genesis 20:12). Laws governing incest apparently did not become enacted until the time of Moses (Lev 18:7-17; 20:11,12,14,17,20,21). Hence, there was no prohibition regarding marrying a sister (or niece or grandniece) in the days of Cain.

Adam and Eve were the very first humans. They had a ton of kids - outside the garden of Eden. No one ever returned to the garden of Eden. They couldn't because 2 angels were guarding it lest they eat from the tree of life and be eternally stuck in a fallen state of being. But it was after the fall when they began having children.
Cain's wife was also his sister. He had many to choose from. Genesis doesn't mention them because it focuses in on a more important aspect of the scriptures as a whole - the covenant God had made with Adam and mankind after the fall. The story of Cain and Able talks about that covenant and the different choices they made. It doesn't mean the women in their lives weren't important. But Cain had many to choose from. Remember, they were all living a very long time back then because of the earth's different conditions. The layer that was around the earth kept the high concentrations of oxygen in and the suns harmful rays out. They were living 100 and 100s of years back then. So Cain could have married when he was 100 years old. He had a lot of sisters or even nieces to choose from.

1) Adam and Eve had more children after Cain and Abel. They had Seth and then had several other children that the bible does not name, it just states they bare many sons and daughters.
2) After creating Adam and Eve, God must have created other people, because Cain found his wife in the land Nod.
For one reason or another God did think it was important enough to tell all the details. I guess those are questions we need to ask when we come face to face with him.

According to the Bible she came from the land of Nod.
My question has always been, if Adam and Eve where the first people on earth and supposedly populated it where'd the people in Nod come from? A lot of (NOT ALL) Christians believe we are all decendants of Adam and Eve but it's possible that there is another bloodline involved assuming that the bible stories are based in fact.

1. They had other children.
(edit)
Considering the lifespan at that time, they could have had many children. They could have multiplied at an amazing rate.
2. Adam and Eve were already banished from the garden when they had children. Cain did not return to it.
The Bible does not say how long between the time of banishment and time of Abel's murder. Theoretically, they could have had many children, grand-children, etc... in that time. Cain could have married one of their descendants without being that closely related.

Adam and Eve had many more children long after Cain left the nest. Eventually, he meets a woman. It's his sister, but he doesn't care, it's just another woman to him. Also, incest did not create genetic problems back then. The human race was young and healthy and there had been no time for genetic mistakes to accumulate.

The Bible is not specific on this. Some say it was his sister, (as Adam and Eve did have other children). Some say Adam and Eve is just one story. G-d made other people, elsewhere, too.

Adam and Eve did not populate the earth, because by the second or third generation of inbreeding would have made their offspring infertile not to mention seriously deformed. A lot of people like to gloss over this fact.
The stories in the Bible ought to be taken as just that, stories, mythology (nothing wrong with mythology!). To take it all literally would be insane.

Since Adam & Eve were born perfectly their genes were perfect. Therefore their kids were born perfectly. This makes it possible that brother has sex with sister in the very beginning. However after this instance, then it became wrong. Because sin had corrputed the human race.
