If you want to be a lawyer, get a law degree.

Otherwise go for the MBA, because I personally think it is more versatile.

Depends on if you actually want to practice law. Lawyers can very good money just handling petty cases, traffic offenses. An MBA is really only good if you are already in business and looking to move up the ladder. A friend of mine thought his business degree was a waste. He owns his own business, but there was no demand for someone with a business degree, in Atlanta. I think a law degree is better. Besides being in the courtroom, there's many jobs behind the scenes within a law firm, educational field, courtroom, and research.

Yes - provided you can pass the Bar examinations and can go into Private Practise. It isn't much fun working as an employee for a District Attorney and some Lawyers never make any money.
Many MBA's have to put up with some very obnoxious Bosses in Big Business.
