Yes. I know from experience. As a teenager, I was sent to counseling & it helped a lot. I don't know why or how it helped, but it did. Possibly the fact that you are doing something to help the situation will make your parents happy and they won't be so hard on you.

Possiblely !But doing what they ask makes it alot easyer than trying to DO YOUR WAY,Your the child there your parents if wasn't for them you'd still be floating around some were,So get off your high horses and do as they say not as you want,Get the point here,YOU ARE NOT THE BOSS--THEY ARE! AND TO HELL WITH WHAT YOUR FRIENDS DO OR SAY, Life is a JOB not a Joy ride

If you are open to receive the help the counselor is providing, YES it can help. But all involved must be willing to change the current behavior.
