Well if things are tuff I would shop at www.walmart.com They have carrier car seats for $65.00 or less . Play pens you can pick up for $75.00 I would do the play pen 3 in 1 then you won't need a crib . Stroller unless it is needed right now i would wait unless your getting the carrier and stroller that come togather then that will run around $120.00 . I have looked between walmart target and babies r us and walmart is better and has a wider selection . i would say if your a smart shopping you can get all the stuff you need for $300.00 or less .

Ok the first thing is do you want them brand new or used? But if you want them new you can get a crib for about $100 plus the cost of the matteress which is about $25-$30, then there is the carseat it will cost anywhere from $50 to $250 depending on the brand and what type you want... the same goes for the stroller... It all depends on what kind of features you want and what brand you prefer..... I found that the cheaper ones usually work just as well as most of the pricier ones... I should know I have 6 kids the youngest is 10 months old

Have you had a shower yet? I go my carseat/stroller as a travel system as a gift but it cost about 150, my crib was given to me by a friend but again Walmart has a really nice on that converts to a toddler bed for around 200, my swing I got at big lots for 40, my high chair was given to me but a decent one costs about 30, I haven't gotten a playpen yet but the one I am getting costs about 50, I can't think of any other big items so I hope this has helped.

why dont u try freecycle.org instead? its a good site to go to and get things (second hand of course) but that way you can get it all without spending too much. but if thats not what u want to do, it will cost aroudn 300 dollars if u buy everything on the cheap end to get the crib (100$) carseat (40-50$) stroller (40-50$) baby monitors (20-40$) clothes diapers and random things that make up the rest but it will be at leats 300$ if u buy everything on the cheap end.

Glad you asked because I am on the same boat. The one thing I wanted to bring to you ATTENTION is that I read an article about carseats and to my surprise only 2 passed the test, they are Graco Snugride with EPS and Baby Trend Flex Loc. Hope this helps also they run for under $90 at Walmart and Sears! By the way I am waiting for my babyshower to see what I will be having to buy myself!
24 weeks with my first!

They're ridiculously expensive. These companies take advantage of the fact that you're excited about your new little one.
If at all possible borrow from a friend, or buy second-hand.... as long as the items are newer, they should be safe.
Of course it's nice to go out and buy all new (never used) stuff, but they really do grow up sooo fast.
How about buying a new travel system... and new bedding. You're gonna spend sooo much on everything else... don't get caught up in the 'must haves'.

Try to get them from a store that offers layaway. Prices vary so much. I found my crib/mattress on sale for $150 (it included a dresser and changing table), carseat and stroller was $230. But it really depends what brand and what store. Good Luck honey.

the bed side sleeper only works for a few months( until they start moving) wal-mart: car seat $50 crib$120 + mattress $55. you can get car seat stroller combo at wal-mart for $100+. sometimes you can go to a second hand store. i found a one handed stroller for $20 last yr.i wouldn't bother with the bassenett.(because the first two months you learn to let them sleep were they fall) if you move them they always wake up. good luck

I would suggest making a list of the things you need and figure out how much money you have to spend. Do you want new items or used? Inexpensive or high end?
Research prices on www.toyrus.com, www.walmart.com, www.target.com, etc. I wouldn't buy them on-line because of the high shipping charges but it will allow you to see how much the items cost. I would then visit these stores and watch the ads in the Sunday paper to see if any of these items are on sale.
If money is tight, I would search for used items on EBay. Even with shipping you can still save money. Avoid shipping charges on eBay by searching for items that are available from sellers in your area.
Finally, try www.craigslist.com and see if there are items for sale in your area. These ads are usually for used items and you will need to go pick them up form the advertiser's home. It's like the classified section of your newspaper, except they usually post pictures to help make your search easier.
Good luck to you!
