A shelter or rescue group. Maybe a friend even. Don't put him in the paper though, as free. You don't know what someone has planned for your free dog.

Yes, you can contact the laborador club rescue and they can help place your dog in a new home. http://www.thelabradorclub.com/rescue/searchrescue.php

use that link to find a local rescue. Pure bred rescue is best because they know the breed and what it requires and they can find a new family that best fits this dog.

Do not place an ad in the paper because people looking for dogs to sell to universities for drug testing using free to good home ads as places to find dogs and labs are some of their favorites.

Labs, unfortunately, in shelters often don't do well because there are many lab mixes and they cannot all find homes.

I would do anything you possibly can to avoid having to bring him to the pound or something along those lines.

Advertise on Craigs List, or perhaps even put an ad in your local paper. Charge a small fee for him, giving away "free pets" can often lead to them ending up with the wrong type of owner. Definitely talk with the people who are interested, and make sure its a good move for him. I would do your best to locate a new home & family for him, not just drop him off. Craigs List is a great start, as its free.

Humane society, SPCA (they are no-kill shelters), advertise in the paper saying that the dog is free to a good home, I would not say just an animal shelter because they do usually have a policy of putting dogs to sleep after a period of time because of too many dogs, not enough room and nobody wanting to adopt them.

any shelter will take him, but you can also put an ad in the paper or post signs in a pet store. Just make sure he goes to a good home. I commend you for being honest and understanding the responsibilty of being a pet owner, rather than throwing him outside or dropping him off in the woods somewhere for him to be killed, get sick, and be heartbroken. Best of luck to u.

If I was in your position, I would take him to a Lab Rescue, or The Humane Society.

Check with your local human society if he's young he'll find a home quickly. Or you could place an ad in your local paper saying free to good home just must be a loving family. this way you can make sure he gets what he needs.

Put an Ad in your local paper. If he's a purebreed make sure you charge something for him. that will weed out all the bad people. Only the serious lab lovers will respond! :)

what about try to take youre dog to a dogs and cats pound and ask her or him if they will get youre dog and try see if anybody else who willin take him and gave him alot of loves and takecare of . or you can also try to the mall or a pet shop and ask them if they do take unwanted pets and will sell the dog to some body who wants him if you dont that then gave somebody else you think will like him for a pet like youre friends or families members that will keep him if you cant handle to take care of youre own dog .

Join your local Freecycle and place an ad. It's free and you can really check the prospective new owners out, you can get references and even go to their home to check it out.
