Of the people who smoke, what percentage of them die from it?

I'm not sure of the exact number but I believe it's the third largest cause of deaths in the united states. & as I am an x-smoker & live on oxygen 24/7 because of COPD caused mostely from smoking, I would love to see the use of tobacco outlawed.

That's a very difficult question to answer, because non-smokers can get the diseases caused by cigarettes too - heart attacks, strokes, and lung, throat and oral cancers can and have occured in people who never smoked a day in their lives. That being the case, some smokers probably would have developed the diseases that killed them even if they never smoked.

A lot. Not from smoking per se but from the effects of smoking like lung cancer, COPD, and even heart problems. So don't start smoking or if you have, quit while you are ahead.
