what's with the cans and plastic bottles? Coke tasted better in the glass bottle. More fresh.

The reason they put coke in Plastic Bottles and cans is that it is cheaper. You can sometimes still find coke in glass small bottles at grocery stores

I know this doesn't answer the question but you should swing by your local mexican grocer if you have one and pick up the coke they have in glass bottles.

A little FYI about those is the second ingredient is SUGAR and not "high fructose corn syrup" like the ones in plastic bottles. I think that's why the glass ones taste so much better to me.

Coke is still available in 12 oz. glass bottles where I live (New York). The big bottles, though, are long gone. The plastic liter bottles are lighter and stronger.

I had a big glass bottle of Coke at a Mexican restaurant just a few minutes ago. Maybe they got it from Mexico.

Hmmm...not too sure on this question but I would have to say probably cost efficient..tis easier to reuse plastic and perhaps too many bottles were getting broken upon delivery., so they changed to plastic. I agree tho, it does taste better in a glass bottle.

I'm pretty sure you can still get coke in glass bottles, but you just don't see it often.

Plastic is easier to handle, and it weighs less than glass, therefore is cheaper to ship.

Years ago there were a bunch of morons that kept knocking them off the shelf in grocery stores and because they were under pressure in the glass bottles they would explode when they hit the ground and people where getting hurt (because they were fat and stupid) and suing Coke and ruing it for the rest of us.

It probably costs too much to use glass bottles.
