It's a difficult thing to do and if you are fairly inexperienced with pets the best thing you can do is just give it a toy that it CAN bite. At that age a puppy has no clue what the word NO! means. You'll say it till your blue in the face and the puppy will just look at you with that confused, playful look on their face, then continue to bite you. However, there are better techniques for more experienced dog owners.
I have plenty experience with dogs from which I've learned several good training techniques for these instances. If you are not familiar with training dogs I'd recommend not trying this.
As long as your dog doesn't have overly powerful jaws yet and razor sharp teeth (like a pit bull) the following technique will work fast:
Let it start to teeth on your hand
Immediately place your thumb under the dogs tongue
place your pointer finger under the chin
firmly squeeze your thumb and forefinger together but not hard!
Carefully force its lower jaw toward the ground
This locks their jaw from closing and makes it almost impossible for the dog to "bite." The only way they can bite is when not enough pressure is applied to the grip or not enough downward force.
This in no way is painful to the dog, but it's not something they enjoy having done to them. So it is kind of like a touching a hot stove to find out you shouldn't touch it kind of method, but without the pain.
The dog will learn that biting your hand will cause an undesirable result. But since you are not doing anything as traumatic like slapping or beating, your not causing any ill will between yourself and the dog.

Other pets,I don't know.People just thump them on their nose and say NO!It will scare them and they will stop.Get a paper and roll it up and try to scare them when they bite the other pets. He's still young enough to scare into not biting others.Or spray him with a spray bottle and they will stop(my friend does it to her puppy for chasing cats)He will grow out of that biting when he stops playing like a puppy...Don't know if this helps......

A quick and firm "NO" and immediately (and dramatically) leave the room when the puppy bites. After multiple times, the puppy will learn that every time she bites she loses her playmate, and that is no fun at all.

It is biting because it is starting to teethe. Make sure the animal has plenty of chew toys to help ease the pain. When it does nibble on you, give a firm NO and stop playing. They will soon learn that biting means no more fun time. You can also replace your hand with a chew toy then praise like crazy. They will soon learn what is acceptable to chew on and what is not.

Spray bottle is good advice. a "NO" is good, but as a puppy be patient because it will take time for him to learn what no means, and so your tone of voice will be very important. As well as tobasco sauce, pet stores sell "bitter apple" spray. it is bitter and deters biting. every time he bites you, say no, then hand him the proper chew toy, and praise him when he chews on it.

Please don't scold your puppy. It won't do any good, it will only make him fearful of his own instincts and that will not serve either him or you in the long run.
Your puppy is teething just a human baby teeths. His gums hurt and anything you can give him to chew on will help him to feel better and break that gum tissue more quickly.
give him a frozen banana to chew on, he'll be in heaven. Puppies generally eat their baby teeth too. If you are lucky you will catch him before he does, he will have a little blood on his lips and that will tell you a tooth has or is about to come out.
My husband has a few of our dog's baby teeth. Sentimental.

My dog just left a blood blister on my mom. When he does bite you while playing a game say "Ow!!" really loud and stop playing, let him play by himself for a few minutes to let him calm down, then play with him more, repeat the process. Get him chew toys too.

I am going through the exact same thing with a 10 week old puppy right now. He doesn't quite understand "NO" just yet, so we are trying a spray bottle and giving him a little spritz as we yell "NO." He really hates that spray bottle and seems to be pretty effective so far.

i pretty much agree with everyone else, your puppy is teething and wants to chew try yelping like a hurt puppy and saying no. i dunno about biting other pets, unless you pup really wants to play and they dont want anything to do with him. Thats how my older small dogs are to my 5 month old big gsd husky puppy, they want nothing to do with her but she will still try to bite their waging tails and chase them

Your best bet is to give your puppy his chew toy every time children are around him and encourage him to bite it instead of people! Also encourage the children to tell him sternly "no" if he does bite and give him the chew toy.
