The best free diet is to eat a well balanced, low fat, calorie controlled diet. That, plus an aerobic exercise program of at least 20 min. a time on at least 3 days a week usually works quite effectively to reduce weight to a healthy level.
Obviously, you need to assess the effectiveness of your weight loss program each week and month to see if you are losing weight at a healthy rate (not more than 2 and 1/2 lbs. a week). The amount of calories in your diet and the length and frequency of the exercise you get can be adjusted to to achieve that rate of weight loss.
I can't remember what the minimum number of calories a person has to eat to stay healthy but you should ask your doctor about any weight loss program anyway.
My wishes are for you to get on a healthy diet and exercise program that you can stay on for the rest of your life. That is the only way a person can keep the extra weight off after they have reduced their weight to a healthy level.
