Round about August last year I found a lump on my head on the right side near the top of the parietal bone region, the peak of the lump can be covered by my fingertip and is almost the same level as the rest of the bone so it's not very big (people looking at/feeling it say theres virtually nothing there), and I don't think it has been getting bigger (although occasionally I do worry that it is). It is rock solid, immovable, feels like bone, and is not painful apart from when I've been rubbing it and poking at it. Several questions really: 1) if this were a problem, would it have got noticeably bigger by now, other symptoms, etc, 2) what is it likely to be, 3) what would be signs that I should worry about, 4) if i go to the doc's, how would they take a sample from it (can't see them getting a needle in it as it's very solid). Thanks for any help :) Cheers

Are you sure it's not just a lump on your skull caused by a previous blow to the head? I have a very lumpy skull because I have bashed my poor head a hot over the years (note to self - be more careful).
It may be worth going to a doctor just in case.

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/JWqnt
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.

sounds like a cyst you will need to see the doctor to get it checked he will refer you to your local hospital.they may not biopsy it just suggest getting it removed.this is done under local anaesthetic and takes 30 Min's stitches may be used they come out in 7-10 days hey presto all done!!! they can get bigger if left some people leave them and they go on there own but you should see your gp they are very common dont let it worry you and for the love of god STOP POKING IT!!!
