My throat hurts so bad for almost a month straight. Medicine doesn't work and I went to see a doctor and his medicine didn't work. I don't have allergies or anything. When I say my throat is sore I mean that it is EXTREMELY painful and HURTS LIKE HECKKKwhen I try to swallow. What should I doooo? Salt water gargle doesn't work and I have excellent hygeine. Drinking tea and honey with lemon doesn't work either. Most sore throat medicines don't even help.

Did the doctor check you for strep throat? Was his medicine an antibiotic and did you take all of it? Did the doctor have any reasons why your throat would be so sore?

Do you have post nasal drip? This can cause your throat to be sore as well. For this take an antihistamine.

If it continues, make another appointment with the doctor and be reexamined. He should take a throat swab to see what if anything is growing back there.

Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection . Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience.

This is not a cure and it tastes bad to some, but it will relieve your pain for a few minutes so you can swallow food and liquid.
Take two cheap, lightly or uncoated, asprin and dissolve them in a teaspoon or less of water and gargle and spit it out. You will be amazed. If all you have are coated asprin, it will take awhile for them to dissolve.

Get a second opinion. Go to an ear, nose and throat specialist. The sooner the better.
