What mexkimo said is just idiotic.
In NV, every slot machine must pay the player (in return) for every $1 spent, 82 1/2 cents.
Since a city like (where i live) Las Vegas has a great deal of competition, you'll see payback rates bewteen 92 & 95% (and even upwards).
Slot machines can be programmed to pay anywhere from the bottom of the barrel state minimum .... to over 100%. Ten years ago they would move machines around 2x or 3x a week. This way, no one could tell where a hot machine 'is' or 'was' & constantly hit it for the bettery payoffs.
Nowadays, the machines have an 'EMPROM' microchip. Basically it's cirquitry that allows for true 'random' play over the course of 10 spins, or 10 billion spins. A new 'random event' takes place each tiime you pull the handle or push the SPIN button (lol). But, of course, this is within the parameters of 82 1/2 % to 100% payback to the player.
Yes, it's true.. some casinos DO PUT higher paying machines near an entrance, or at the end of an aisle of machines.
What machine should you play...... my advice is this.
1) play the highest denominatoin you can!!!!!!!
This is because it takes a longer amount of tiime for a casino to make $ on a 5-cent machine than it does on a $1 machine. Thusly, it needs to keep a larger percentage of your nickels, than it does your dollars!!!!
2) play progressives .. if you win, the jackpot will be larger
3) if you like Video Poker, play with optimum payout charts.. for example a 9/6 machine for the vp game "Jacks or Better".

Up till very last wintry climate i might want to opt for wintry climate each and each and every time. something about the list volume of snow that i had to shovel, push, plow or snow-blow far flung from homes, roofs, sidewalks and driveways presented a down side to wintry climate. i will flow with wintry climate after a pause for idea as my prominent pastime (Ice Hockey) won't be able to somewhat be performed without wintry climate, precise?

for every $400.00 you put in a machine. 100 goes to the casino, 100 goes to the gambling board, 100 to the IRS and 100 to the clients.
So if you give me $800.00 I will give your 200 and take care of the rest!!!
