My wife went through this surgery a couple of years ago and discovered yesterday (by an x-ray technician) that there are still two staples inside her body where the gall bladder used to be.

yes i work in surgery and have had it as well.,. those staples are what ties off the artery from bleeding internally. when you cut off the galbladder it is connected to arteries and ducts which allow it its functionality.. you no longer need the life source to it when it is gone.. they will not harm your body they are plastic. but visable on the xray.. (actually some are metal) it is totally normal and no worries your body wont reject them.. they are necessary to complete the removal of the gallbladder

Yes this is absolutely normal. The staples are safe to stay inside the body. And it is safe for her to have an MRI - The only time it is unsafe is if the gallbladder surgery was very recent.

Yup. Unless you want your wife to undergo surgery just to have it removed. The staples are made of materials that will not cause a reaction. Be sure to tell you doctors though if she is planning to undergo an MRI.

that's particularly uncomfortable. yet being a laparoscopic surgical treatment the restoration time is below it could have been with the previous way of removing a gall bladder. you have smaller incsions to heal up. have confidence me you will experience one hundred% greater advantageous after that's all achieved and over with.

Yes, on Xray we do see staples from prior surgeries and they are supposed to be there, absolutely.
