Jesus said," Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all things will be given too you." You both need to open minded seek the Kingdom! I claim to be the only real Christian because I believe in the life and Philosophy of Jesus! The christian churches today do not reflect what Jesus wanted. Within 100 years of his passing the church was already corrupt. The Gospel of Mark is the best story of Jesus. It was written 35 years after the death of Jesus most likely by the son of the inn keeper where the last supper was held. This Gospel is the only one written by someone who actually may have met and talked to Christ. The original Mark does not tell of the Resurrection. The endings were added later! There are 5 Codex es of the Bible (original copies) in existence today, and the best is the LXX Latin Vulgate (Vatican) It was written 200 years after the death of Christ and 7 correctors have made changes to it! You are lucky to have a Bible at all! Translators Wycliff and Tynsdale were burned at the stake for putting it in English for the common man. Catholics did not want the masses to have access to the Holy Word. Christians today practice what I would call the Philosophy of Paul. After all most of the New Testament is written by him. The True Jesus is out there but you must seek it! after all your eternity depends on it! - Good Luck - Earl

In a proper Christian marriage, one where both parties in the marriage have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and are trying to lead a Godly life, the wife is supposed to submit to her husband. While that does not mean that you can boss her around, if you both belong to different sects, she should convert to yours. Husband and wife should not disagree about such an important issue. Submission is talked about at length in either Ephesians or Philipians. I suggest you find it and read it and talk it over together. You will be sorry later on if you do get this to a point where you both agree. You will also have problems with the children. Your children will end up being confused when they get older and it may end up actually driving them from God because of the confusion.
P.S. I am a woman. Yes, I do believe in submission.

This is like arguing over the different shades of grey.
I suggest you do this; put it in writing
Sit down and find points of both your faiths that you can agree on like maybe the Ten Commandments, sacrament, etc.
Agree that these are things you will both cooperate in EXPOSING you children to and will enjoy together.
Write down a list of the things you feel are most different and agree NOT to argue about these in front of the kids. As a matter of fact, agree not to argue about these things at all and just let your partner "do their own thing".
I don't care what flavor of Christian you are, Christians are supposed to be TOLERANT. If two spouses can't coexist with slightly different beliefs there is no hope for the world.

As the Bible teaches us, marriage is two persons becoming one flesh. There must be agreement on everything in order for the marriage to survive. Something has to give or you can forget about staying married. this has nothing to do with human love. Human love is nothing more than lust. This is about commitment and dwelling in the love of God AS ONE FLESH. Marriage is not a 50/50 deal---it is 100%/100%.

Peace!
I suggest you make a deal. Why don't you go to each other's church alternately until you can come to an agreement which Church your future children will be baptised? Maybe that will also lessen the tension and teach you to be more tolerant of each other's religious beliefs.

Well then agree in prayer, and agree to what the Bible says, and agree to what God says back.
:)
We are all one church, one denomination. The word is what holds that together. If the word is changed, then it's no longer the bible, and only the original word of God remains. Except a man be born again he cannot enter the kingdom of God. A saved person is a saved person. Period.
There's gonna be tough times, but you can both rely on faith and find your solid foundation in Christ..
Don't fight each other, join together and fight the Devil... If God's on your side, who can defeat you?

If you wish to put some superstitious garbage in front of your personal happiness, then what do you expect.
If there is a God and you are both devout Christians then if you pray together God will show you the way to happiness.
Doesn't the fact that is not happening show you something.

Performing religious rituals on children... You people make me sick. How about having them attend a church with you, or just teach them about your religion, and others if you want to be a good parent, and let them decide when they are old enough to make a rational decision and not just soak up everything you tell them. Wow...

My niece is currently going through this. Her father takes her to church on saturdays and sometimes my sister goes along with them and sometimes she doesn't. When my sister decides to go to her church she takes her daughter. So my niece is learning about both faiths. When she is old enough she will choose which faith she wants to follow.

Teach your children both faiths, and also teach them about other faiths too. Let them decide what path is ultimately right for them. You can't decide for them, you can only guide them. Teach them the basics, and encourage them to open their minds and spirits to faith.
