Happy Birthday!
We resolved that problem very easily. The second friday of each month is Birthday Friday. Our HR prints out a sheet with everyones birthdays on it for the month and posts it in the break room. Then, like today, we had a big cake with fruit, veggies and some other breads. Sometimes we get enchiladas, sometimes we do cookies and cupcakes, we change it up each month so it's not always the same.
That way everyone gets recognized in an impersonal manner and everybody gets some goodies.

I would have jumped on the table AFTER they had sung Happy Birthday and smashed the cake. Then I would yell, "What about me? It is MY birthday too!" Then I would have started flinging the cake at everyone with my bare hands.
You have to admit, it would probably get you sent home early and then you could enjoy having your birthday afternoon off.....

Well, I always tell everyone, "Hey my birthday is coming up!" Or I just plan something with my friends myself. If my co-workers forget, it doesn't really bother me, because maybe only a few are my close pals. People forget birthdays all the time. Don't take it personally.

Ask your supervisor why your name was left out of the birthday roster. Since it bothers you, don't let it fester; find out what the problem is. It's possible that your records may have your birthdate wrong. I found out that my records had the wrong birthdate exactly this way! They switched the date and month. I'm glad I found out so I could correct it.
Don't assume malice, but don't exclude error. You need to find out if there's a problem.

I'm sure it was an oversight. Don't say anything until the NEXT birthday celebration (in Feb?) and then joke that you can't wait until your birthday next year when you get a cake and a song.

Happy Birthday, if it's any consolation! I prolly wouldn't say anything if they didn't know it was my birthday. Then again if it was I would have called out sick! And if they did know and just forgot, I'd throw a kick *** house party and not invite them! Happy Birthday!!!

I would be hurt but if you didn't personally tell anyone then its really no ones fault. I am sure it was an honest oversight. I'd wait a few days and then maybe initiate a conversation with a friend in your office and slip in the conversation your birthdate.

Hah! Where I work, YOU bring in the cake on your birthday, and no-one sings. Seriously, you got off easy.

I would feel left out, considering the email had the names & dates. I'm surprised nobody mentioned it.
