You can't prevent it.......I got it when I was in my early 20's......all you can do if you hate it so much is to tint it .....They have non peroxide hair coloring that does no damage,,,if you use a dark or med blonde it makes your hair look streaked....(LOVING CARE) just fade out instead of growing out!!!!
I love mine now!!!!!!!!

I too started getting gray hair (in 10th grade). It's genetic and there's nothing you can do about it. If it bothers you, pluck it out. And don't believe the old myth that if you pluck out a gray hair, two more grow back in its place. That's a myth.
I dyed my hair sometimes when I started college, but eventually I learned to embrace my gray (salt-n-pepper) hair. I saw it as a rite of passage, and it made me stand out as more unique among my peers. And it will have no bearing on your social life. If anything, having some gray hair while your young intrigues people. Makes them think you have a story to tell.

Keep your stress level down! Besides genetics, that is one of the main causes of gray hair. I found my first gray hair at 16, but I inherited it from my mom. I am now in my mid 30's and if I didn't color my hair, I would be more than 75% gray. A lot of that is stress related also!! Protein helps and Vitamin E.

Time to start heading out to the store to buy hair dye kits. You can't prevent it; reducing stress will help it from getting worse or so I've heard. Welcome to the wonderful world of genetics; I bet there's others in your family who suffered from premature graying hair.
