Can someone (NOT ME) join the military if they have been convicted of a felony (burglary) and are currently on probation for 3 years? They stole beer out of someone's garage. The person is 19. They have earned their GED while on probation.

Yes they can but must be off of probation to get in. I was a recruiter for 6 years. This person would require a waiver to get in the service. But before they get the cart ahead of the horse, each branch has an apptitude test that must be taken. So if they cannot pass the test, does not really matter about the rest. I would recommend that this person go speak with a recruiter and take whats called a pretest to see where they are at and then try and work off their probation by doing some community servive by going thru their PO. Good Luck

Call a recruiter and ask. May have to wait until off probation. Call, and see.

First, it would take a lot of beer to make a felony . . .
Do you have your facts straight ?
Normally, adult felonies are a disqualification but
How come you are not asking the people who know ?
How come you not ask a recruiter ?
(phone book, yellow pages, armed forces recruiters or recruiting armed forces OR white pages, US government)

no because a felony restricts you from possesing a gun. Since you cant legal hold a gun then your not a very useful soldier.
