What I am questioning is why are there religious people, who can't accept that other people don't share their same beliefs.
(i.e.: When monotheists tell polytheists that they have invalid religious beliefs, and vice versa.. Not to mention tyring to convert non-believers, who just want to be left alone)
Also, I am questioning why there are agnostics and atheists who refuse to let non-hypocritical (please see the above sentence for an example of the opposite of this) religious people have their religious beliefs in peace, without trying to convince them to stop believing.
-On a side note, please keep in mind that I am neither trying to stereotype atheists and agnostics as all having the intentions of getting religious people to abandon their organized religions, nor am I trying to stereotype religious people as all having the intentions to covert non-believers.

I don't know about all those other religions but Jesus commanded us Christians to tell everyone that there is no other name under heaven by which man can be saved but by the name of Jesus. No man cometh to the Father but by Him. He commanded us to tell everyone, everyone must repent and accept Jesus as their savior and Lord, not just some. Some day every knee shall bow and tongue confess Jesus Christ as Lord.

Oh come on why are there all kinds of people etc...
I am agnostic... I don't mind letting people believe whatever they want to believe but remember, many people are born into families that expect them to believe as they do and many of those families are religious.
I was born into a Catholic family and was automatically expected to believe in religion etc. I disagree with religious teachings and feel that it is unfair that a person is bombarded with religion before they even have critical thinking skills developed. Before they can even hope to decide for themselves.
Look at the despicable story that some certain religions people say about a 5 year old who converted to their religion.
If it was a 90 year old atheist or person of another religion then maybe the could brag but 5 years old? give me a break!

I don't want to 'convert' religious people - I know they don't have souls so there's nothing there to save. If someone had a silly belief like not walking on the cracks stops them having a fatal accident, believing the position of Jupiter determines whether they'll have a good day or not, or if there's a sky-fairy looking down on them, well - then those beliefs should be mocked.

It is the difference between a closed mind and an open one.
Closed minds are self contained and believe they require nothing from the outside, including new data. The decision is already made.
An open mind will take in data and adjust accordingly. New information equates with new possibilities.

Its a security issue, people want to feel secure in knowing that others think the same as they do. Of course that they trivilize anothers right to believe as they see fit never comes to their mind that what they are doing is harmful and anti-love, but it does. That we all believe in traffic safety and speaking the same language in a shared country is more important.

I'm all for live and let live. No religion (or lack thereof) can be 100% proven or disproven. However, if they try to force their belief on someone else, or say they're wrong - They're fair game for all the ridicule they deserve.

Simple: they have to be right. Everyone's afraid to admit that they may be barking up the wrong tree, faith-wise. Therefore, they tell themselves (and others), that whoever thinks differently MUST be wrong.
