If your invitations do not require travel or hotel arrangements to be made by the guests, I would suggest mailing them 30 days in advance. Otherwise, I would allow 60 days.

I would recommend 6-8 weeks notice for people to plan. Plus, that is near a holiday and in the summer and a lot of people will have other plans. For example, I've already RSVP'd to a wedding on 7/7/07.

It depends on the occasion. For a wedding or something similar, it should be at least a month in advance. Since it's the summer, I would say even earlier because people go away on vacation.

a month ahead. if you do it a month a ahead, people will know ahead of time. summer parties need to be notified about very early in advance. (people usually travel and stuff)
