It depends on your hair. As long as the ends look healthy and neat, there's no need to trim. I didn't get a hair cut in the last 7 months. I'm just letting it grow and taking good care of it. There are a few split ends here and there, but nobody notices them really.

To keep it healthy it would be good to get it trimmed every 4-6 weeks and make sure when they trim it that it is just the ends should be less than half an inch.

Its good to give your hair a little trimming every 6 months.. as the tips of your hair will remain more healthy , you wont have split ends and by trimming it will grow faster aswell :)

gd luck!:)
ps: by trimming i mean a slight trim from the tips of the hair not a proper cut.

Medium length hair 8 weeks and long hair needs to be trimmed every 10 weeks.

Depends on how you wear your hair.

My friend wears his really short and he gets it cut every 3 weeks.

I wear mine long and I get it trimmed every 3 months.
