I was in the Army for nine years. I went in in 1986. At that time and still now they don't want an enlistee who has medical problems. That's why they ask so many questions and do a physical. Their view is that if you have some kind of medical problem that it could get in the way of doing your job. So they wouldn't even let me join with my braces I had to take them off.
I hope that you can get in, I loved my experience in the Army. I am a disabled veteran now but I have great memories of when I was stationed overseas. They also offer a lot more money for college than what I got. I think I got $22,800 and now they are offering up to $60,000 which is great.

No, I am from a military family, 8 in Iraq now and 3 more just enlisted.

Anti people like to believe that troops are just blacks and lower class but the volunteer Army is a pretty good, efficient operation. The standards are lower in the national guard units I think

When I went to MEPS, this guy also went with me and he would have gone in fine, but he changed his story about something the second time they asked him. I don't know what it was about, probably drugs, but either way he didn't get in. I think he was able to try to enlist after 6 months.

I jumped the fence but they threw me out, so yes I did have trouble getting in.
