In the UK, if the speed camera is on one side of the road but you are driving in the opposite direction, i know you can be flashed if your going over 30, but can you get done for it? (the lines are not on that side of the road)

There are different types of speed camera. The digital ones will catch you whatever way you are going. Although they say that if you get flashed there's something like a 1 in 5 chance anything will come of it. I know a few people who have been flashed going the other way and they have never had a ticket for it.
As for the shiny number plate, I wouldn't recommend it as some Police are pretty hot on that. After all tickets = revenue!!
Well, I hope you haven't got a ticket, but remember if you keep to 30 you won't get one!! :-)

It would depend on weather there are any white lines on your side of the road. AS they are what they use to work out your speed. If not then I doubt if you have much to worry about.
As for putting anything on your number plate . Its a great idea untill you are being followed by a police car. They will pull you over and give you a fine and points.
Wait and see what come thru the post. But what were you doing going over thirty anyway.!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you've got away with it speedy! I used to set the one off down the road from my girlfriends mum's all the time! I've grown up alot since then & know far to many young people who have learned the hard way! Drive carefully!

i would say you are pretty safe i have been flashed on many occassions from cameras on the opposite side and never had a ticket. In fact on a motorcycle they cant catch you as you have no number plate on the front

I don't know the answer, but you can go to the hardware store and buy one of those plastic blubble license tag covers. The tag cover will reflect the light from the flash bulb of the camera thus the camera cannot read your plate. It will just take a picture of the reflection of the light flash!
LOOK THIS REALLY WORKS YOU D.A'S!!!!
