Yep. A condition such as asthma will disqualify you from world-wide service. If it takes place in boot camp, it can also be classified as a pre-existing medical condition, and you're out.

There was a recruit from Texas in with our son in Boot Camp. He was discharged when he "developed" asthma while there. They were told that it's not that uncommon for recruits from dryer states, when they are suddenly dropped only yards from Lake Michigan, to suddenly become aware of an asthmatic condition that they were totally unaware of before. He didn't receive bennies because they said it was a pre-existing condition, even though he wasn't aware of it when he enlisted. It only took like two weeks for it to show up. The poor kid begged to stay in, but he just couldn't do it. I wouldn't say anything is automatic, or typical, when it comes to the Navy.

Depends, if you can somehow miraculously prove that you developed asthma during boot camp...congratulations! You may have a chance to get medically discharged (honorably) and receive great VA benefits. However, if the docs determined that you had a history of asthma prior to enlisting and somehow this little detail was omitted from your medical questionnaire when you joined 1) they may keep you in the Navy to finish your enlistment or 2) if you have a history or malingering or a pattern of misconduct during initial entry training they may wish to separate you under "failure to adapt" or 3) if they can't stand your guts they may discharge you for for fraudulent enlistment.

My brother is an asthmatic and after ten years his asthma has shown no sign of improving. He has been to several doctors but they didn't help much.
If you want a proven, all-natural way to cure your asthma, without having to pay for useless medications with harmful side-effects, then this is the most important page you'll ever read.

Haha! I choose i exchange into going besides camp along with her merely so i'd desire to work out how she handles the RDC's making her cry. have confidence me, boot camp isn't a stroll interior the park. She'll have her "i'm so stunning" strategies-set for variety of three days. Then the certainty will hit her that she has to close up and do despite she's informed to do and that there is not something that makes her greater advantageous than every physique or every physique. She sounds rather thick and deluded if she eats up each thing her recruiters tell her without analyzing relating to the failings herself. do not hardship, she'll get knocked down and (with a bit of luck) while she gets up returned she's wiser. Edit: i needed to function that the "drop and supply me 20" element remains very plenty used. different than that's greater like "Drop and initiate doing push united statesuntil I make it easier to be responsive to to give up." Punishment by exercising is likely considered one of the main valuable and strong coaching kit that RDC's can use considering punching recruits interior the face while out of vogue.

No- Just because you have asthma doesn't mean that they will chapter you out. It depends on a WIDE range of things. Example: The severity of the asthma
My husband was in the Army for 21 + years just retired in Oct. 2006. He was diagnosed with Asthma 10 years INTO his Career...and not one mention of him being chaptered out. He is/was airborne.
My husband only received 10% disability for his asthma.
But to answer your question...No it is not an automatic grounds for separation.

if it is determined that you had it prior to enlisting, and you knew about and failed to disclose it.. you will be given a fraudulent enlistment with zero chance of ever being allowed to serve in any branch.
if it is determined that you did not know you had it, depends. The docs can deem it severe enough that you will be given an Entry level Seperation. You will be DQd from military service on those grounds( as opposed to Fraud)
If they determine that your military service CAUSED the asthma.. you are in luck. if you are seperated, you will retain VA bennies. or, they can decide to let you stay.

It depends. Most Likely. If you have an asthma attack, you will probably be seperated. If you have asthma but noone finds out, you will be ok. You should have told your recruiter about any asthma problems anyways. If you did and he ok'd it, he can get in trouble.

I believe it comes down to the severity of the attacks, (i was diagnosed @ 14 and never had an attack.)typically once the Armed Forces have you they will do everything within their power to keep you. so as long as it is controlable, and does not prevent you from 'breaking things and Killing people" I see no reason why you would removed simply for that.
