I have a similiar type problem where my jaws feel swollen, get lumps and pain in my neck, dizziness and lightheadedness leading to anxiety. My problems are caused by my sinuses getting clogged due to GERD (acid reflux). Your body reacts to stomach acid by producing mucus which clogs your sinuses which stiffens the muscles in your neck. That can cause inner ear problems and your neck to become out of alignment. A misaligned neck can lead to lightheadedness and anxiety. I constantly had sinus drainage as well. I ended up having to take Prilosec every day to solve my problem. GERD can be silent so you may not know you have it. It might be something to look into or ask your doctor about. My problems hit me out of nowhere and took me 18 months to figure out.

When you have an infection the Lymph nodes are the first line of defense. It is normal for them to enlarge as they are fighting off the infection. That is why a doctor checks for "glands" in your neck and other places (depending on the source area of the infection) when you are sick. So they should just go back down gradually after you get over the current illness. If however they remain swollen well after you are better then it/they need to be checked out.

Sounds like an inner ear infection. Make sure you get antibiotics if your not already taking them. I've had it before. It's hell! Don't let it go without med's. That could be dangerous. Inner ear will go down the side of your neck and give you a horride headache!

Sounds like you have a really bad cold or the beginning of the flu. No reason to think you have cancer just yet. Give yourself at least 2 weeks to feel better.

Well, he said not to worry about it, but did he say what it was or what was causing it? If he just blew it off, I'd get another opinion -- especially if it's painful. You deserve to get a better answer than "don't worry about it".
